Committed to excellence in gastroenterology, Dr. Epstein founded Digestive Disorders Associates in 1990 to serve the health needs of the Anne Arundel community. In 1992, he expanded the practice's services with the opening of the Arundel Ambulatory Surgery Center. Charles E. King M.D., F.A.C.P.

Dr. King joined the practice in 1991, with extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of digestive and liver diseases, including acid-peptic disease, pancreatic and biliary disorders, nutrient malabsorption, gastrointestinal bleeding, biliary and pancreatic obstruction and cancer of the intestinal tract. Ritu M. Sachdev, M.D.

Dr. Sachdev became board certified in Internal Medicine in 2003. She began her Medical education in India, graduating from Maulana Azad Medical College with her Bachelor Degree in Medicine and from Delhi University with a Bachelor Degree of Surgery. Dr. Sachdev completed her fellowship progam at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, specializing in Gastroenterology. Dr. Sachdev's areas of interest include Video Capsule Endoscopy, Epidemiology and gastrointestinal research with a concentration in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
Barry J. Cukor, M.D.

Dr. Cukor received his Bachelor Degree in Biological Psychology from Tufts University and attended medical school at Boston University School of Medicine. He received his Internal Medicine training at Tulane University Medical Center and completed his GI fellowship at the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center. Before coming to Annapolis he practiced Gastroenterology in Virginia. Dr. Cukor and his wife reside in Annapolis with their two sons. He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is accepting new patients in both the Annapolis and Chester offices. His area of interest includes reflux, capsule endoscopy, and research of new treatments of GI disease.
Vishnupriya G. Krishna, M.D.

Dr. Krishna received her medical degree from Gandhi Medical College, University Health Sciences in India. Both her Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowships were completed at the State University of New York (SUNY). Dr. Krishna is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. Before coming to Annapolis, Dr. Krishna practiced Gastroenterology in Colorado. Dr. Krishna resides in Annapolis with her husband and daughter. Her primary interests are GI motility, reflux, and research of new treatments of GI diseases.

Aline Charabaty, M.D.

Dr. Aline Charabaty is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and the Associate Director of the Center for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases at Georgetown University Hospital. She received a Bachelor Degree in Human Genetics at McGill University, Canada and her medical degree from the St. Joseph University, Lebanon. She completed her residency in internal medicine and her fellowwship in gastroenterology at Georgetown University Hospital. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Gastroenterology. Her areas of interest include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD: Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), celiac disease, women's health (including gastrointestinal endometriosis and rectal incontinence) and staging of gastrointestinal tumor by endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). She is involved in Georgetown's Cancer Genetics Program which promotes genetic testing and cancer screening in patients with a family history of cancer.
Lisa Medeiros, CRNP

Lisa Medeiros graduated with honors from the University of Maryland at Baltimore with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She continued her education at the University of Maryland and received her Master of Science degree in the Family Nurse Practicioner program. Lisa received her national board certification as a Family Nurse Practicioner from the American Academy of Nurse Practicioners. She has a wide range of interests in all digestive disorders ranging from celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease and swallowing disorders.

Rebecca Turner, CRNP

Rebecca A. Turner (nee Popelars) graduated from the Ohio State University with Bachelors in Nursing and minor in Sociology in 1998. She began her Adult Nurse Practitioner education at Ohio State and completed her program at Seton Hall University in 2004. Rebecca received her national board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Her areas of focus during her nursing career have included medical-surgical, surgical ICU, ER, and recovery room. Prior to joining DDA, her area of interest as a NP was long-term care and chronic illnesses. She completed training in ambulatory pH monitoring and esophageal manometry in February 2007 and her GI interests include Hepatitis C, GERD, and inflammatory bowel disease.
